This last week was a special and wonderful week. It started with a One day trip to the lovely city of San Antonio, Tx. We arrived a Friday evening and took a walk through The Hemisphere park. What a relaxing feeling when your there. The waterfalls aside the tower are hypnotic! Time flies when you stare at them. We got to witness a wedding on the entrance of the tower. It made me remember the jitters of my own wedding a long time ago. And the Quinceañeras taking their portrait pictures made me go back in time to that beautiful age when you are pretty and beautiful no matter what. And you have that sense that everything is possible, that all your dreams can come true. Afterwards we took a long walk on the river walk. Just watching people from all walks of life enjoying the rides on the river, the Mariachi music and savoring the different dishes from around the world is like transporting yourself to a world of its own. Everyone there is happy, hospitable, beautiful, worry-free and everyone smiles back at you. Kinda like when you're a child. My two children enjoyed the walk very much and it amazed me that they never complained about being tired or sleepy. I love to see their faces of wonder.
The next day we traveled to the zoo. It had been about 4 years the last time I was there and I've been visiting since I was a child. When my parents used to take us as often as the could afford a trip for a family of 7. The zoo remains beautiful and I can never get enough of watching the beauty of God's creation in nature and its creatures. The monkeys made me laugh till I couldn't laugh any more, the birds enlightened me with their singing, the fish amazed me with their beautiful colors. Just couldn't get enough. Well we traveled back the next day and came back to our cozy home. It was great to come back to a clean house and sip a good cup of coffee and catch up with the local news.
Come Monday, my 4 year old began a celebration of his own at Pre-K. They started off with a parade of their own; they were treated for ice-cream; they held a reading club. Peter Piper visited over; they played math games; they had a puppet show, they sang along with a renowned guitar instructor; they danced Zumba!, which I have yet to do and they finished off with a field trip to a local sports field in the school bus! My baby's firts school bus trip. Once again he made me grow spiritually with his beautiful face of wonder.
Come Sunday, a family group gathering was an excellent day to enjoy our children and become children once again. Sunday was a beautiful day here in Laredo weather-wise. Cool, breezy and sun-kissed.
Note to myself in my quest for a beautiful life:

La semana pasada fue una especial y maravillosa. Comenzó con un viaje de un dia a la hermosa ciudad de San Antonio, Tx. Llegamos un viernes por la tarde y caminamos por el parque del Hemisferio. Que sensación de descanso cuando estas ahi. Las cascadas a lado de la torre son hiptónicas! El tiempo vuela cuando las miras. Fuimos testigos de una boda a la entrada de la torre. Me hizo recordar los nervios de mi propia boda hace ya muchos años. Y las Quinceañeras que se retrataban ahi me hicieron regresar en el tiempo a esa hermosa edad cuando eres bonita y hermosa no importa como. Y recorde aquella sensación de que todo es posible; de que todos tus sueño se pueden realizar. Despues dimos una larga caminata por el paseo del río. Con solo mirar gente de todos los caminos de la vida disfrutando del paseo por el río, la música de Mariachi y degustando platillos de todo el mundo es como transportarte a un mundo aparte. Todos alli son felices, amables, bonitos, relajados y todos te devuelven una sonrisa. Asi como cuando eres niño. Mis dos hijos disfrutaron tanto la caminata que me dejaron sorprendida porque nunca se quejaron de cansancio o de tener sueño. Me encanta ver sus caritas cuando se maravillan de lo que ven.
Al día siguiente viajamos al zoológico. Hacia ya 4 años de la última visita. He visitado desde que era niña cuando mis padres nos llevaban tan frecuentemente como lo permitia un presupuesto para una familia de 7. El zoológico permanece hermoso y no me canso de admirar la belleza de la creación de Dios en la naturaleza y sus creaturas. Los changos(monos) me hiceron reir a mas no poder, los pájaros aclararon mi mente con sus cantos, los peces me dejaron asombrada con sus hermosos colores. Me quedaron ganas de seguir alli. Bueno pues viajamos de regreso a nuestro hogar. Excelente regresar a una casa limpia y poder tomar una taza de excelente café y ponernos al corriente con las noticias locales.
Llegado el lunes, mi niño de 4 años comenzó su propia celebración en Pre-kinder. Comenzaron con un desfile muy a sus estilo; les invitaron nieves; leyeron en su club de lectura. Peter Piper estuvo de visita; jugaron juegos de matermáticas; tuvieron un show de marionetas; cantaron junto a un maestro de renombre aqui en la localidad; bailaron Zumba, lo cual todavia no intento y finalizaron con un viaje a una unidad deportiva en el autobús escolar! El primer viaje de mi bebe en autobús escolar. Una vez mas el me ha hecho crecer espiritualment con su carita de asombro.
Llegado el Domingo, fue un día excelente para disfrutar de nuestros hijos y volvernos niños de nuevo otra vez en una reunion de grupo familiar. Este Domingo fue un dia hermoso aqui en Laredo en cuestion de clima. Fresco, con vientos agradables y un sol que acaribiaba.
